So do you still use the spacers then and just bolt the flat stock on there with the spacers? I had to drop mine for now on my '89 till i do the SYE and axle swap becuase I had a severe vibration. Will i have to worry about this if its only for a few months?

if you wheel it, yes worry about it, if only street, your probably fine

Oh ill definately be wheeling it, how should I go about doing this diferently then?

Leave it bolted up to the frame where it belongs. Lowering your transfer case is a piss poor way to attempt to improve driveline angles. Leave that to the jeeps.

I agree with you completely but i jsut installed all my suspension stuff and will be doing a 14bff in a few months as well as a SYE so i dont want to go wasting money on a cv driveshaft until I do all the other stuff since im sure i will need a different length and what not for the 14b, but I still want to drive it in the meantime. Once I do all the other stuff i will hopefully be clocking the tcase as well as building a new x-member since the stock one has such piss poor clearance anyway! So this is only a TEMPORARY solution.;)

ok so my truck is going to break? my xfer case is lowered about 2-3".... I have been thinking of getting rid of that... It was done when the 12" leafs went under the truck and needed better drive line angles....
but now with 8" lift should be fine... but it is done and seems tight....

Exactly, you could make your own out of some 1" thick by 1-1/4" flatbar 4-1/2" long with two 3/8" dia holes at 2-1/2" center to center, then just buy longer new bolts and place that between the frame and the crossmember and do away with all the factory bolts and spacers.

They actually sell these in a kit, but its tubing and not solid steel.

Took my own advice and made some this weekend out of 3/4" thick x 1-1/4" flat bar. The extra 3/4" lowered it enough to decrease the pinion angle 3degrees and my angle is now good and no more vibrations :D

I will try to get some pics next week.

i didnt say thay work good or bad. but easy to make. and the set i have is in there propor place in the garage on the pile of stuff that didnt work for me. every body to there own. glad it worked for you.

I understand, if I had a lwb truck I would never do this, but with these K5's and there very short shafts, every little bit helps to fight the dreaded pinion angle vibrations.
