looking at my chilton... hanes (one of them) manual and they said i will need a "spanner wrench" to change out front wheel bearings? nobody seems to sell them, and it doesn't say WHEN i'm gonna need it in teardown descrpt? thnx

dont know why thay call it that. but if for your 4x4 blazer in your profile info you just needs a wheel bearing hub nut socket. 4 tab style. and thay are vary comon at local parts stores.

dana 44 and corp 10 bolt use the same size and usaly you can get one for around 20 bucks.

They call it that because the socket has the same shape and does the same job as a spanner wrench.
I guess it should call for a spanner socket instead.

cool cool, thnx guys, yeah mon i bought that socket you recommended, only $17 so i figured fuggit. i thought thats what you guys had been saying all along, i just freaked when i was reading manual last night. well, i'm diving in! laters

being brits call all their wrenches spanners, I always wondered what they called an actual spanner wrench...

don't mind me...... :haha:
