goint to fab up a tire carrier and i am looking for a place to get one of the steel pipe looking hinges that is used on the heavy duty tire carriers like the ones 4X4 iron used to sell.

Its a 1k trailer spindle, any local trailer shop should carry one, than you have to machine down the hub.

ASomeone here used a locking hub as a hinge. Looked like from a d44 or 10b. Kinda neat idea you can swing the carrier out as far as you want it then lock the hub to keep it in place.

its a cool idea to use a hub but i like the one on that website because of its small dia. I am going to reinforce my stock bumper after drilling the hole and tacking it in, then uses some 1"X1" square tube to make the swing away carrier. somone has done it here on ck5 because i have seen pics of it. dont know whos rig it is though.
