Anybody using the OEM spare tire carrier? I'm referring to the one that goes behind the rear seat. Post some pics up.

I just found a 15x6 steelie that I'm gonna have powder coated and I'll be using it as my spare. If I could only find a carrier now.

I've got a modified version that holds a 35" tire. The parts that's hard to find is the bracket that holds the tire to the big carrier. They aren't the greatest place to hold a spare, you can find them at wrecking yards sometimes.

I'm just going to be running 31 inch tires for awhile. Even in the very distant future, 33 inches is the maximum size tire I would go and that's pushing it. Trying to go OEM as possible and enjoying the thrill of the hunt.

IIRC, the first-gens share that carrier with the '73-74 Blazer/Jimmies. At the least it's very similar in appearance. Hope that helps in chasing one down.

I'm going for OEM period correct. Am I turning into resto purist?
