I picked up a spare tire this weekend, 35x12.5x17. Now I need a wheel! I have a 6 lug Suburban. It has a 6x5.5 lug pattern correct? I have been looking at craigslist but have not found anything. So I was looking at 4 wheel parts at a steel black 17x9" wheel for around $95.00. They have 2 different backspacings, 2" and 4.5". Not sure what backspacing. Does anyone have any advice on my dilemma? Thank you!

You should use whichever backspacing your rims on the truck have, or at least close to it ideally.

This is the measurement for backspacing

4.5" BS on a 9" wide wheel will be centered, or 0" offset. The more offset you get (like the 2.5" BS) will set the tires farther out, and depending on your tire size/fender clearance/etc you may hit the outside of the wheel arch under compression/turning.

I'm going to venture to say that the 4.5" backspacing is most likely going to be closer to what you have on the truck already than 2".

If you were closer, ive got a spare wheel. I had to buy a set of 4 to get the 2 that I needed, so now ive got 2 spare rims. lol.
