im looking for a way to mount my full size spare tire to the inside of the roll bar, is there a company that makes something like that?

I was off roading and the tire tried to jump in my lap!:eek1:
i don't want to die by tire.

Pictures would help us figure out what you are trying to solve and do.

I had a setup like that once, just had a shop weld in a tube and plate in between the end of the smittybuilt roll bar. Still had room for the backseat, top and tailgate. Found the pics.

Get a hub off of a D44 or 10 bolt and have it welded on. Buddy of mine did something like that on his Scout to make his tire carrier.

went to eBay picked up a used hub shipped for less than $30, and ill have it welded to the bar after i press studs in it.

thanks for the idea AJMBLAZER

Why not go one step further and build a bracket onto the bar where you can bolt up a spindle? Could be efficient storage for spare front-end parts...

Agreed. Have the shop weld on a plate to the roll bar that matches the spindle mounting. Bolt on the spindle, pack the bearings, tighten down the spindle nuts and lock the hub and you have everything for one wheel or the other ready to go.

Good thought!!

Later,
Buddy

There are a some fabricators offering plates like this:

thats one of the best ideas ive ever heard.put a couple axleshafts on the back side of the bard with joints already attached and youd have a whole front axle assymbly for the most part if anything broke.the only thing that wouldnt be there is the r&P but if you broke that youd be pretty much screwed as well.

My solution was a bit more simple, but I also didn't want the tire standing up because it was in my line of sight and also going with 35s it hits the back of the rear seat. Mine lays flat on the floor behind the seat. I took a square of 1/8th plate with a 2"x3" strip of the same 1/8th plate. Drilled a 1/2" hole through the strip and welded that to the plate straight up. Welded the plate flat to the floor. Took a longer strip of the 2" plate, long enough to span the wheel mount surface in the center of the wheel, and drilled a 3/8th hole in the center of that. Went to the hardware store and got a long enough 3/8 "J" bolt, a washer, and a wing nut. Lay the tire centered over the plate welded to the floor, lay the strip over the wheel center and use the "J" bolt to hook to the strip welded to the plate and through the strip over the wheel center and tighten down the wing nut. Now the spare is secured to the floor.

I'll have to take pics of this set up, it's way simpler than all that stuff I just typed out...
