Hey whts up everybody im new to the forum world. But i would like to know if anybody has a 80's suburban with a spare tire mount/mod on there barn doors im looking to pick up a spare tire mount of an Isuzu tropper and mounting it on my suburban but would like any ideas. I guess its a look im going for i watch to much tv/movies but yes any 411 would be much appreciated if i can figure it out i will try and post sum pics:dunno:

I think if you take a look around, you can find the setup you are looking for. I google image searched "dantes peak suburban" and found this:

I believe the K5 mount may work for a swing out mount, or there is always the custom bumper route as well.

Good luck, I want to do this as well, but well it takes time & $$$... which I usually only have 1 of at a time!

here's a link to a hitch mounted tire carrier.

http://www.tiregate.com/shop/universal-hitchgate-centered/

fairly spendy, but its an option if you don't want to drill into your body.
i have heard several stories about the s10 blazer tire carrier tweaking the body or the sheet metal.
s10 blazer huh never even thought of them some one suggested a rodeo swing out mount also. but thanks for the link. and yes ill check out tht thread

Valley Industries used to make the one like on the Dantes sub. They bolted on to the rear corner of the body and the tailgate. They're good for up to 33" tire. Bigger will fit, but the arm that sticks out through the wheel will start to bend w/out some extra bracing. I've had one on my blazer for years. It will be coming off if/ when I ever get around to putting the new (to me) rear bumper w/ built in tire carrier.

Cool ill try and look them up right now went to the junk yard today i took one of an isuzu tropper my spare fit on it perfectly fine but as i tried to hold it up against the rear door it made it kink and it wasnt even bolted on i also found one on a chevy 20 van but the shape of the door made it not work. I found a rodeo tht mounts on the side but the guy was closing for the day so sometime next week ill check it out again it looks nice and beefy to. I took a pic ill try and post it.
