spare tire mounts

anyone got any pics of the spare tire mounted in the cargo area of their k5??? i'm trying to figure out the best way to mount my spare 31x10.50/15 in the back of my blazer and still have some storage room......if thats possible ....lol. the rear seat is still in the vehicle , thanks for any ideas you might have

Yep, had a 33 mounted on the factory set up.

Only two real options inside, either the factory mount, or laying flat. Factory mount is as close to the bed side as it can be, but you will still have "wasted space" between the tire and the bed side. I find it's actually a good spot for things that you don't want crushed.

What is the biggest tire you could fit on one of those factory mounts? Do you think with some modification you could possibly fit a 37inch tire?

I have a 36x12.50 mounted in the factory location but it causes the back seat to bow forward a bit and the tailgate just closes.

As above, the seat and/or tailgate can get in the way. I've got a 33 mounted, and it's CLOSE. I think there is enough play in these things that you could cram something larger in there, but at some point you are going to hit the seat.

i'm only going to be mounting a 31x10.5/15 on it so i should be good to go!! the guy i bought the truck from had most of the parts piled in the back.....bumpers and all.......lol!! i used to own an 86 k5 but dont remember what the spare mount looked like ......i do remember removing it from the passengers side behind the rear wheel well...........found







this in the shop hanging on the wall..........does this look like the proper mount?? it doesnt look like the one in the lmc catolog...lol.............the pics when it was red in color is when i first got it........the other two where it is black is how it looks now , for the time being anyways..lol ...........at least untill i get some more ideas from you guys on ck5

Nope, that's not like mine. It's a three point mount. I bought mine out of the classifieds here on CK5. Go to the wanted section and ask if someone's got one they will let go cheap. Good luck!
