spare tire tailgate mount

I just picked up a 74 Jimmy and am just getting my feet wet here. Someone posted this tire carrier on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...7962928075
This is exactly what I am looking to do with my spare, currently a 33", but can anyone think of a reason this might not work or not advisable. If not I will have to get it.
