spare tire

my spare is help flat in the back with a tie down strap, it always slid <thump> ...i hate it sittin there, but don't wanna NOT have one. I was thinkin of rigin up a pre-runner style mount, maybe fab a box to store tools etc in under the tire.

Currently I have a Bronco style spare tire carrier rigged up, but it is messing up the tailgate. So my next plan is to put it in the back and make a false floor above it. I'm hoping there's room that I can make a slide out drawer next to it to store a few things.

I also toss around the idea of saving up and buying a bumper from 4x4Iron or DP Industries.

i have mine mounted on a prerunner style mount that also functions as a rear facing spot light mount and a CB antenna mount.

Just lay it down in the back with a tie down strap. Gonna fab a pre runner style one soon. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

well If I ever get around to getting an spare /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif I'm sure I can fit in the sub somewhere /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif I could mount it on the roof rack but it's going to be an PITA to take it down.

I run a 33 inch spare to match , backwards on the inside carrier so it fits flat on wheelwell ( spare driveshaft and axleshafts behind it ). I can still , with the backseat intact and passengers in it carry my spare , tacklebox , 6 rods , my trailbox ( huge ) and a beer cooler . With backseat folded I can add my tent , grill , sleeping bags ,pillows , lantern , clothes bags , SECOND cooler , and my old lady /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
