I'm redoing all my ignition stuff while I'm cleaning up my engine bay and need to see what options are out there.

I'm making my own wires with MSD 8.5mm black wire. I need something to hold the wires off the headers. For separators I usually wrap a zip tie around the 4 wires, then put a zip tie around that zip tie, but in-between each wire.
I don't want anything chrome or fancy, just something that's going to get the job done. And I have perimeter bolt heads, not center bolt.

Oops, I forget to say that I'm running TPI, so they'll be running from the back of the valve cover forward. The runners are in the way to cut across the valve covers.

I'm using the Made For You stuff like Ryoken but no pics at the moment. Mine are routed from the rear forward along the outer side of the valve cover (but still loose from the cover itself), the clamps drop off 4-3-2 as they go forward.

The only real drawback to the Made For You stuff is it's expensive, iirc about $40 for the clamp set.

Plug boots seem to do the trick for me, also I switched over to MSD seperators.

Lol, yep even though I am 6'4" it is a stretch when changing plugs and wires so I made that to stand on. Works perfect since it cant flip out from under me like a step stool.

I bought one similar to that, but mine folds down and forms a step of sorts. It doesnt fit my 18.5in wide boggers, but fits my brothers 15in tsl's pretty good. I need to make one for mine, as at 5'8" Im a tad short for that.

And them wire separators on that 454 are sweet, if you dont mind me asking where did you get them and what did they cost?

I had some cool ones.... But the headers melted them :haha:

Nothing like breaking in your new motor and putting a leather glove on to wipe away the melting plastic so it doesnt melt right onto the header

I broke in 2 motors on the (Made for You) wire holders.

.

I saw some pretty sweet zip tie wire hold downs on a tv show.

like this

That's the way I normally do my wires, but there's nothing that keeps them from flopping over onto the headers...

I got some plug boot protectors, but would still like to keep them from laying one the header tubes.
