anyone got any pics of how they got there spark plug wires routed? i got some cheap autozone headers and msd cut to fit wires. i was going to get some wire brackets that bolt to my center bolt valve covers to hold the wires. anyone use them?

What i plan to do when i buy a set of nice cut-to-fit wires is this.

Say all are plugged in...Hold all 4 wires together at he back of the block. Wrap them in a zip tie. (not tight) then between each wire put another zip tie running perpindicular to the other. it is also ran "over' the other wire.

I did this on one set and it worked good, just work your way down the block. I hope that made sense....

GOt some pics...not plug wires...its late, im too lazy to walk to the shop to do this. used a guitar wire and zipties...the pictures show what it would be like for 3 plug wires. as i said. Wrap them with a zip tie...dont tighten it.

You should have the 3wires inside of 1zip tie, then between 2 wires wrap another zip-tie over the 1st zip tie, tighten until it is tight over the 1st zip-tie, Repeat for however many wires you have, Then tighten the 1st zip-tie until everything looks neat, and theres no slack.

Sad part is that if you have to undo 1wire it all has to be done again.

These actually look crappy, i tightened the 1st zip tie too much and wasnt able to get the other two down enough to space the "wires" farther apart.

Too damn lazy to go out in the rain for pics.

Here's mine, '95 motor w/centerbolt valve covers.

When ya cut the sires to length, make sure to leave enough extra to lift the dist. cap off. The first MSD wires I got, I cut the perfect length. They looked great and were routed beautifully. Till I tried to get the cap off.
Next set I left enough to be able to lift the cap off and access the module...........:D

Here's mine. Made mostly from components off an (any) Olds 307 equipped GM car.

Kind of hard to tell from the photo, but where the wire is obviously held, there are small threaded holes in the head, factory. Just bolt the brackets to those, and use wire seperators (usually come with the wire sets) to keep them paired up until you decide to send the wires down towards the cylinders.

Had these on there for years now, nowhere close to burning a wire from the day I fired it up.

dude that rocks...

I just have all mine zip tied to whatever they are near.... dipstick, other wires, etc... :doah:

Thanks! I had a mess of zip ties and other stuff too before I put these on and was really pleased with the finished product. I bought one of the Moroso HEI cap/rotor/wire kits for like $100 and matched the wire dividers so it's all blue and keeps everything all neat & tidy.

Do what you can to separate 5 & 7. They tend to share some energy since they are next to each other, wires and firing order. IIRC:haha:

Dude, when are you going to stop blinging with that motor and bolt it up?:D

Says the guy with the rainbow colored motor in his avatar:rolleyes:

Actually it's in right now. I'll probably adjust the valves and finish breaking it in later this week. For some reason, it's no longer as clean as it was in those pictures though.:dunno:

That avatar is almost two years old. Yeah, it all disappears once you bolt it in.:doah:
