Are there any good 6x9 speaker pods out there, or would i be better off just making my own?

You can get the wedge shaped boxs for 6X9's. I've seen some people mount those on the sides by the top of the rear seat. In a burb, I think you'd be able to mount them off the roof in the back. I did that in a conversion van I used to own and it worked pretty good.

My burb already had some old crappy 6x9's mounted in the front and rear doors and I was just going to put some back in those places...but i wanted something to help to keep the water off em.

Then you might want to look into those foam baskets that go in with the speaker. They are made just to keep rain and other stuff off the speaker.
