Special tool needed to get 91 blazer\'s top off what is it.

My friend has a 91 blazer and his top has a different kind of bolts they have a star type pattern on the top of them. He wants to know where he can find the tool so he can take his top off. Please help me with this simple question thank you

It is called a torx they have them in a socket too...mike /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Go to Auto Zone and get the T-40 or 45 star bit /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Take them out with locking pliers, replace them with hex bolts, and do it the easy way from now on.

Don't forget, there are two bolts that go up from underneath the bed rail into the top. Take of the last couple screws in the rear interior panel to get to them. Those will be already be hex. Even with all the bolts off, there will be alignment pegs, so it will have to be lifted off (it can't be slid).

i got mine at napa, it was called tamper proof torx /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
