Speed-o-meter

Hey guys, I've got an 87 K5 that is almost entirely stock with about 120k on the clock now. 700r4/np208. But for whatever reason, my speedo has always been about 7mph slow..... Yet my odometer reads correct? Has anyone else ran into this?

I'm not familiar with the inner workings of the speedometer, but the two are tied together since the cable drives both. If one is off but the other is not, I'd assume a failure of the speedometer.
