speedo cable repair

if not when its not but cold ill tell ya
Huh?

You are looking at using that universal cable core? It's a great idea, especially the part about fixing it for $8. I just wonder how well the little crimp-on end stays on and keeps the cable from unraveling.

I can tell you that I had a slow, bouncing speedo needle and when I finally tore into it, I found the transfer case end unravelling. The cable is like one spring inside the other (wound in opposite directions - fairly simple and clever) with the end crimped tightly into a square shape. For repair, I shortened the cable and the housing and put my own square crimp in with a vice, a torch and some plumbing solder. It did not go smoothly, but it has been working fine for a while. If if fails again I may pick one of these up.

well it's a pioneer speedo cable and it should fixed it

mying quit the other day too. the t-case end of mying is comeing undone. acording to the website o-rileys here has a 100" in stock that im going to check out in the morning.

pioneer inc. #ca3003 $12.99

thats the one i use normally but next time im going to get one from napa its 108"
the 100" fits mine just barley the extra 8" should make for an easier install
the transfer case i have is a np205,which one you running?

part # for the napa one is Part Number: BK 6151678

i have the 203 t-case. dont know if it will make that big of difference or not, or does the cable go to the passenger side of the 205?

ok thats what i kinda figured since you asked lol. so then the 100" should fit mine pretty well and if not ill check out the napa one you suggest.

thanks
mike
