Has anyone else had an issue with speedo cables breaking after a day or two? This just happened for the second time to me, the first one bound up or somthing and broke the interior part in two, so i got another one and a day later it stoped working it seized its self, this is so strange and sucks, i hate not having a speedo

did you grease it before you installed it?

nope, i thought they should be ready to go, the first cable i put on there was fine until i melted it on the exaust the next two lasted a day or two and that was it

Did the replacement ones melt too?:haha:

When you put a new one on, drip some oil down one end of it and twist it. A drill works good for this. Make sure it doesn't have any sharp bends in it or is getting pinched between anything. Is it a one piece cable (t-case to speedo) or 2 piece cable (t-case to cruise control)?

Yeh when I put my new cable in it came w/ some kind of green grease that smelled alot like wheel bearing grease, might have been the waterproof grease they sell for trailer wheel bearings.
