Hello everyone. When trying to correct your speedometer do you have to change both gears? Drive gear and speedo gear? And Do you go up or down in teeth? My speedo is 15mph faster then what I am going. Speedo calculator on monster transmissions website calls for a 43 tooth. In my head it makes sense to go bigger then what I have to slow down the speedo. Let me know what you guys have done to fix this. Thanks

More teeth on the driven gear slows the speedo down. In order to make a calculation to determine the ideal driven gear, you will need drive gear tooth count, tire diameter and axle gear ratio

Certainly it’s not off by 15 mph all the time. At what speed do you see this? Your speedo will always be off by a percentage not just a flat number of mph.

This.
I had a guy yesterday say a similar thing shooting through a scope he tells me it's not calibrated properly shoot 2" to the right.
Me: at what distance.
Him: ??

Sorry guys that’s a guest-a-met ... I will pull the speedo to find the color of the gear so I can give you tooth count. 4.10 gears 35” tires

I found the calculators on the internet just wondering if you can mix and match colored gears and which ones you used on your axle/tire combo.

So I have not done any of these swaps but I have done some research.
I know that the drive gears are only 2 or 3, and each will work with range of driven gears.
So if you are off by a little chances are you can just change the driven gear.

Thank you ... I’m gonna look what color I have today and then buy what I think I’ll need to correct it and let you know what happens.
