Speedo help?

i went to the dealer sat to get a little box looking thing that goes to my t-case for the speedo.They said they cant help me i have no speedo what should i do?

you not have one at all or ? did it ever have one or are you adding one cuz you think you have to have one ?

is the trans case original to truck axles ratio ? gears been swapped inside it ?

do you know that its accrate or not ?

you dont HAVE to run one of these ratio boxes, you can just run it direct, just to make the speedo work for at least now

if you want to check the speedo for accuracy then go ahead and connect it and time yourself at 60mph on the freeway from one milemarker to then next with a stop watch

if you get to the next marker

his will tell you if you need to slow up or speed up the cable rpm

smaller driven gear will speed it up and so will larger drive gear

tire size changes will also affect speedo accuracy,

You can also do the timed mile if you have a tach or another car and driver preferabbly one with cruise control time yourself over 5 miles on flat ground if possible. Look for a speedo shop or a shop that deals in custom cars they should be able to point you in the right direction

i have one in right now it just went out thursday it work with my 35's and 410's i plan on going 37's.
