On my 75 k5 with a 203 tcase the speedo cable threads into one of those little boxes that is supposed to correct the speedo for tire sizes. My speedo wasn't working so i put a new cable in and did the spin test with a drill, speedo works that way but not when its threaded in the box and driving. So my question is is there a way to figure out why its not working?

A quick check that it's not the ratio adapter that's bad would be to take the ratio adapter off and then hook the speedo cable direct to the t-case, if the speedo works (but is off) then you know it's the ratio adapter that's bad.
It threads in just the same right?
Yes.
Well took it off hook the cable to the t case and went for a test drive. took it past the speed trap up the street 40mph is 40mph.
