Speedo Questions

I am getting ready to replace the stock speedo with a Autometer. Does
anybody know if I have to replace the cable, or can I use the stock speedo cable? And if I have to replace it how much and where to get one?

If it is an electronic speedo, you will need a Hall Effect Sensor. Sumitt PN: ATM-5291, it retails for 62.95. You cable plugs into it, then it sends the electrical signal to the speedo.

Summit has installation instructions for almost all thier products. If your speedo is mechanical you an re-use the stock cable, here is a link for an Ultra-lite 4495 install instructions.

Just got done doing that on mine. You will have to replace your stock cable with a different one. The autometer uses a screw on style and the stock one uses a clip to hold it on. I got one on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUTO...015QQitemZ250254118777QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW and I had to use the 83" long one for my setup.

i have an autometer dash and i have an 89 k5 with a 350/700/208, i order mine 100" long from www.speedometersolutions.com. it was about $60 shipped to my door for the "oem" plastic/rubber casing or you could pay a tiny bit more for the metal casing.
