I just pulled the mechanical gear from the top of my NP 241C Transfer Case. Its has 42 teeth on the gear and the speedo is reading 68 mph when I'm actually travelling 60 mph. Where can I get the gear to correct this?

Lots of trans shops have buckets of old speedo gears lying around, call around, local transmission parts supplier, like transtar/axiom , speedometer shop but those shops arent very common.Or of course dealer.

You'll need 47 or 48 teeth. If one of those isn't available, you'll have to change the drive gear, which would mean pulling the tailshaft off the T-case.

Look on the bright side, it will cut down on speeding tickets.....

This is looking like the only option. The local speedo shop doesnt have the gears for the transfer case. Transmission Parts Unlimited may be able to get me the drive gear. I will have to remove the old one. What do I do here? Do I have to get a drive gear with less teeth?

Yes, the drive gear will need less teeth than the one you have now. You might be able to shine a flashlight in the hole and identify the color. You may have to swap both gears in this case.

Gm Still carries the driven and drive gears, As of last summer anyway, May have to wait a few days for shipping from another dealer but they havent not had one ive needed yet.
