I would like to know if this would work in my 89 Blazer? It has electrical gauges and a mechanical speedo.

Not sure if it's plug & play for an 89 but fyi the fuel gauge is missing.

Edit: the oil and water gauges appear to be a different font so they are not original to that cluster. Not a big deal, just sayin...

I'm gonna check this out when I get back to GA. I need to pull my factory gauge and compare the two. I was hoping someone on the board has seen or used one like this.

I've done it using a 74 tach cluster in an 80, plug & play except for the fuel gauge but all had to do was reroute the wires directly to the gauge.

Somewhere around 88 ~ 90 the cluster pin out changes and it's not that simple any more, not sure on the exact year things changed. I tried using an 81 cluster in my 91 (electric speedo) and the wiring was way different.

What years had the tach and mechanical speedo?

Mechanical speedos were used up until 89, 90/91 were electric.

Tachs are debatable, I've never seen one (in person or 'net) newer than 81 but I think I've read they were an option thru at least 86.

I'd like to find one with the tact and hook up the fuel like you did. I hope you got some tech help available for me:D

You pics of your cluster?
