i installed autometer speedo in my k5, the autometer speedo has a 5/8 thread where the cable attaches the stock cable is a slip over with a clip.
all the aftermarkets ive seen are not long enough there like 7' and i think i need around 8'
any one know if ford trucks use the 5/8 thread on the speedo or have any other ideas

these are they guys that I reccomend to everyone that has this problem when the get a dash from me.

They can make a speedo cable for you

thanks ill give it a try,

anyone know if older chevy trucks use a threaded speedo?

i think the transfercase ends are all the same something like 7/8"

I called Summit Racing and had them order a custom Lokar. It was still a cut-to-size, but at least it started out long enough. Some time after, I could swear I saw something that would work from O'reily Auto.

Yeah they did. Its 7/8-18 thread at the case and 5/8-18 at the speedo i think or else its 7/8-18 on both ends

i used an early 70s C10 I think for my camaro years ago to find one long enough, they had speedos that screwed in.

the longest Lokar has is 7'
car aplications are all to short
2wd trucks are too short also
its gotta be from a 4wd to make up for the transfercase length,
i have a email into speedometer solutions

i did call them and didnt feel that i got a good salesman, he claimed the longest he had was 7'

i searched and only could find the 7' lokar one
