i feel really stupid for asking this but i got spicer hubs with my D60, i took it apart a while ago and i couldnt quite remember how to put it back together.so i looked it up,and i have everything in this photo except part #14 http://77cj.littlekeylime.com/img/Danadiag/Dana44_Hub_internaltype_sldiingtooth.GIF and it says to check manual on how to assemble it. basically im wondering what sits behind the spring since i guess i have "kit number 660055" :doah:. i know how it goes together after that.

Read the little asterisk at the bottom of that picture.

ya, i read it. im just curious if there is something else or the spring just goes in first and slides between the hub and spindle to sit evenly in there? my friend just told me hes pretty sure it will sit on a shelf that is made for it on the spindle or hub. i think if i just took out a flash light and looked down past the spindle nuts i could answer this question for myself:whistle:

Spring goes in and will sit on the bearing in there.

make sure the big outer ring that fits in the wheel hub has the tapered ramps for the inner gear facing out. then make sure the inner gear on the stub shaft has the ramps facing in.

if not thay will be hard to engage. its to help slide things in. :thumb:

and dont forget when your ready to upgrade to 35 spline stub axles thay can have the stub shaft gear machined / broached out to 35 spline. no need for new hubs.

and the spicer hub is about the best hub you can get other than drive slugs.
