I would like to get Spicer brand ball joints. I found through searching that Auto Zone had a line called Perfect Circle that was made by Spicer. When I called them they don't have that line and the guy had never heard of it. Their lifetime brand is called Duralast. Is that made by Spicer?

What about Napa? Theirs is called Precision and the guy thought they were made by Dana. Isn't Dana & Spicer the same thing?

The local dealer didn't know who made theirs for sure. He thought they were Spicer, but wasn't sure because the box says GM. They had a kit that included one each of upper and lower ball joints for $42.30. That seems like a very good price, even a little lower than the parts stores.

I konw Carquest has Moog stuff, but I like to stick with the Spicer brand.

Any help is appreciated.

TIA

i got my spicer ball joints from Six States Distributors. they sell pretty much nothing but drivetrain parts for every thing from our k5'a to semi drivetrains. the number for the local store here is 541-747-9944. give them a call or search for them online. there might be one near you. as they are in six different states..

i paid apprx $23 per ball joint

my local napa man and shop owner said over a year ago thay nolonger carry or sell dana spicer products. thay have gone to lots of jap stuff.

moog parts are vary good. and a/z stuff is getting vary crappy on the premium line. i have found lots of problems with there stuff the last few months.

I would just go get a set of Moog joints

The moogs have the upper grease fitting off to the shoulder of the balljoint. This allows you to grease it at any time with the shaft in place. That was a selling point for me. Carquest can order spicer stuff, their "house brand" is moog.

Moog

I put moog ball joints in my old 44 when the new spicers went bad after 1000 miles..put 500 miles on the moogs and then swapped it for a 60.
