is the inner bearing inside the spindle on the front axle replacable or do you have to get a whole new spindle? I put new Yukon 4340's in the front of my 10 bolt and noticed 4 rusty needle bearings in there and the rest were gone.

you can get a spindle kit from a parts store which includes that bearing and a couple seals.

They're are replaceable just a pain in the butt to do so. I guess unless you have the tools. I took mine to a machine shop and had them heated and beat out. maybe someone on here knows an easier way to remove.

What you need is an SBK-1 kit. This kit gives you the spindle bearing, thrust washer, spindle bearing seal and also the seal that goes over the slinger on the stub shaft.

Thanks alot guys, yea ill swing by Advance and pick em up, is there any easy way to get em out, i didnt mess with it long this afternoon but it seemed really tight and like a pain in the butt.

You are getting rid of the old bearing so just collapse the cage of the bearing inside the spindle and push it out with a brass punch. That is how I did mine when I replaced them.

Dik

you can rent a slide hammer and bearing puller at autozone to get em out... took like 5 mins to do both on my D60

Hey I just figured I'd add this in case anyone is searching for SPINDLE BEARING REPLACEMENT threads in the future... $10 pilot bearing puller from Harbor Freight. Had to grind the teeth down a bit to fit but it pulled the bearings out of the spindles in less time than it took to figure out which wrench I needed to turn it.

X2 That's exactly what I did.

If you are talking about the outer/female race, just knock it out with a drift/punch/screwdriver/chisel, etc. No heat.
If you have any kind of cut-off disc tool, like a Dremel, cut the old race parallel to the axis of rotation. Cut it through such that it's a circular spring. You can use that as your "beat-on-it" tool to drive in the new race(s).:wink1:
