What you have just witnessed is a molested spindle/bearing. Viewer discretion is advised.

Alright, took my spindles to a shop to have the bearings taken out and new ones pressed in. Not only could they not get it out, but they screwed up the spindle trying to use a chisel.

Bottom line is I'm gonna buy a new spindle and he is going to reimburse me and I'm gonna take it to someone else to do the work.

I found one on Summit... My blazer is an 89 and It says it will fit my application.

Do any of y'all know any opinions on this part/brand or any other options for buying a new spindle? This one is about $120 and free shipping.

Thanks everyone.

"We wouldn't do it if I didn't know we could do it without messing them up" lol that's what he told me. He's gonna make it right though, so all is well.

cleaned up worse . file off the boogers .

take a LONG punch / chisel / striking head prybar ( my favorite ) go in from the top side and hammer 1-2 rotate hammer 1-2 rotate . . . . till out .

then slow and steady install new bearing .

changed a lot of them .

I used a hunk of 1/2" pipe to drive spindle bearings out on the one 4x4 GM truck I replaced them in--every other truck I had, still nicely greased intact ones,so I left them be...there was a special tool to remove them sold by Lisle or K-D years ago,but I cant seem to locate a picture of one, never mind a part #.
