After discovering two of my spindle studs have been sheered off resulting from a loose outside spindle nut (the one that tightens against the other nut) can I just remove the lower ball joint to be able to get the lower spindle stud or do I have to remove the entire knuckle?

Thanks

removing the lower ball joint is a lot more work then just removing the whole knuckle. Just remove the 2 nuts on the ball joints, then get a ball joint fork and a BFH and beat on it till the knuckle comes off... then you should be able to move the lower ball joint off to one side and pound the new stud in

ive replaced one before, there is no reason to remove the knuckle or a ball joint to replace it. just get it down to the knuckle and remove teh axle shaft, then pound the old one out and put the new one in. when you tighten the nut, it will pull it self in.
