Fricked up my passanger side spindle. D44 8 lug. Threads are damaged. anyone ever had any luck salvaging a cross-threaded spindle. Do they make a die or thread chaser?

I've fixxed one with a thread file to get off the hill but didn't trust it. So i replaced with a junk yard spindle. If it's just the end thats messed up you could prob run it. As long as the nut was on good threads.

They are the big external lockouts. I took the spindlle off and I am going to take it to a machine shop to see if they can clean up the threads. I tried a thread file, but the first few thread are too folded over to straighten out. LMC wants 225 shipped for a new one. GFound some off roading sites that have new 1/2 ton stuff for 89 bucks. That set from snap on looks very usefull, but I'll see what the machinest says. Thanks for all the input. Makes frick'en up more bearable!

If its just the first few threads,,,take a dremmel tool to it....or grind them down with a die grinder or angle grinder.....

Hell,, I've cleaned them up with a hacksaw blade with a duct tape handle on the trail before...
