Spline Count

I currently have an 85 K30 with the 465/205 combo. What spline count would the front side of the 205 have? I think 10, but not sure.

The reason I ask is I'm gonna convert to a TH400 & don't lnow if I need to swap t-case too, or just the tranny.

10 spline sleeve between the 465 and 205,,,,32 spline on the T-400,,, trans shaft slips into the spline of the transfer case. no sleeeve.(transfer case is female splined)

you can get transmission output shaft and transfer case input shafts from Boyce,and then you can use any T-400.

BTW,,,the T-400 to 205 transfer case adaptor plates are rare and are getting harder to find,,,Boyce and Advanced Adaptors might be able to help you out.

It should be a "long" 32 spline 1-ton version, which is found on "round adaptor" 205's in K30 85 and up.

85 is the first year of the 32 spline 4spd combo. The t-case side of the adapter should be round, not shaped like an "8". /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Yeah, that would have the 32 spline 465/205 which is a relatively hard combo to find. Keep it!!

yes, that is the hard to find setup. No piece of [censored] coupler sleeve between the trans and transfer. I have been hunting for one for a while with no success.

Well, when I get my auto swap done, maybe I'll sell it if it's such a demand item. So, what would the hyrdaulic clutch, 465, &amp; the mated 205 fetch anyway?

I sold mine to Kenny for 300 bones, clutch and all.
