Kind of a noob question if you can believe that, but I've never used a spray gun with the air jet holes (fins/wings, lack of terminology). I know you can turn them to adjust your fan pattern. Gimme a bare-bones basic rundown on using a siphon fed generic spray gun like in the attachment.

yup, like in the pic, it'll spray a vertical fan. turn it 90 degrees, it'll spray horizntally... it's an air cap btw.....

usually spraying 35 to 45lbs, depending on viscosity, etc...

do yourself a huge favor, pick up an inline filter like this black one from a body supply shop, etc....

Yeah I already have an inline filter like that, got a couple extra when I installed my OBA on my burb. Got em for all my air tools.
So with the air cap fins in the horizontal position, the spray pattern will give me a vertical fan?

yup, like pictured, it'll give you a vertical fan for side to side painting...

some guys NEVER change that... that position is what you'll use 98% of the time... I change it occasionally for a door jamb or something, but not often..
