I am looking for real feed back from using a sound damper/heat insulation spray on products. Any one use anything before spraying in there bed liner?

If you only want to use a single product, then you'll need to find a spray-on product with a ceramic additive.

I'd considered using peel and stick products like Dynamat Xtreme, or some of the ThermoTec mats (which I've used with success in the past), but once you start using those, there's really no way to topcoat them with a spray-on product. I guess you could apply them as the top layer, but one of the main benefits of using a spray-in liner is that the interior is washable with a hose... once you start sticking other products to the floor, that's really not true anymore.

My own plan is to "Jet Hot" the exhaust, then build small heatshields for the underside of the truck, maybe sandwiching ThermoTec-type mat between a couple layers of thin aluminum or stainless.... and do a more conventional Line-X or Rhinoliner on the complete interior / underside of the tub.

Wasn't there a guy on here a while back that used Lizard skin on the bottom of a first gen, then a rhino liner type spray in on the interior? I can't remember who it was, or if he was happy with it... Just remember it was an orange first gen.

He basically sprayed it then left the forum. No updates on actual effectiveness from him

I did Dynamat in the interior of my truck and it makes a big difference. With the windows up I can actually talk on the phone and actually hear the other person

That would be a huge plus.

lizard skin has 2 products you can use 1 over the other or separate .

1 for heat control

1 for sound control.

stick on matts like dyna mat and others are good and only technically require up to 50% coverage to be effective . why some people do total coverage I don't know .

Small clarification, for heat control full coverage is better. But dynamat isn't very good at heat control anyway. It's for sound vibration dampening. The best heat insulation is realized by either reduce the amount of heat at the source, or to prevent it from reaching the part you don't want to get hot. The rubber in dynamat conducts heat fairly wall, which is why it's not great at heat insulation. Adding an isolated air gap is the best and most cost effective solution. If you could separate the components with a layer of argon gas, that would be even better. :)

I used a bit of dynamat on the bottom of my floor pan above my exhaust pipe and it helps extend the time is takes for the floor to burn my bare feet, but not by much.
