Hey all,

I have a problem! I bought some "custom" lift leaf springs for my 89 k5 Blazer. Well, the coward at Leafspring Warehouse in Fresno, CA who runs the place said they would bolt right onto my truck. So I gave him the money and sold my springs because I had positive recommendations for this guy. Well, the springs measure eye to eye at about 47", not even close to the 52" I need. Now he won't return any phone calls, or my money.

So, can I get the springs dearched a little bit to lengthen them to the correct measurements? Or is there anything else I can do?

Were you trying to fit these springs in the rear of your rig?
 
Ha, yeah! Sorry guys! Trying to put these on the back but all four springs I was sold are the same length. The fronts are fine, the backs are obviously giving me the problem. The coward won't admit he didn't make the correct product or resolve the issue. Any ideas? Can I de-arch the springs to lengthen them?
 
Nope..de-arching isn't going to add 5" to the springs ..and even if it did the back would sit much lower. I would go back to the shop and drop them right on his counter (or head). I can be a little more insistent in person than over the phone

I figured this might be the route I'd have to take but I was trying to spare the guy some trouble he'd want to avoid. I just heard from him and he said "I sold 42 sets not one person had any trouble putting them on so your an idoit get lost not doing anything for you dont do returns for inability R B" Looks like this will be a pleasant visit.

If I were to change the shackle angle just to bolt them up, would the weight added bring the springs to the right position?
 
To get those 47" springs to work on the back you will have to move the spring hangars closer together.
Just verifying, all 4 springs you have are the same length?

Thats what I was afraid of...Yes they are. There has been nothing I can do to get through to this guy that he gave me the wrong product, and he doesn't offer returns. A real American, this one.
 
We're you billed for 4x the same part number or 2x one number and 2x another number?

Any chance you paid by credit card and can file a dispute. Nonpayment by the credit card company to the vendor can be very motivational.
 
I know someone who managed to fit 56" springs in a truck without moving the spring hangers. It was funny to say the least and a mess when I went in and moved his hangers for him.

Maybe this guy sold springs to 42 idiots that thought thats how they were suppose to be and made them work:D

Those are two great thoughts! Thanks! Only problem is, it has been a little while since the purchase, but I will look into filing a claim. As for the invoice, it came as a "complete" set, so it was just 1x the item.
 
Would your axles be factory installed? My thought being if they are factory installed then the documentation from a dealership could prove what the exact part numbers that make up a 'set'. If they are after the factory axles then I would find a model at the dealership that matches what you have and go from there.
