Since I can't drive my 1st Gen around topless yet.... there is only one other way to mark the official start of Spring for me.

This morning, I drive out to the storage facility where my vehicles spend the winter months in hibernation, pull the car covers off them...hook up the batteries and fire them up for the drive home! :saweet:

My buddy here locally loves this day, since I basically throw him the keys to the Porsche and ask him to drive it home for me while I drive the Suburban behind him.......WAY behind him! :haha: I usually only see him for the first minute of the drive, after that he's history. Can't say I blame him... but he pays for his own speeding tickets.

Anyway, it's a beautiful sunny morning and rumor has it that today will hit 80 degrees, which hasn't happened yet this year. I get totally stoked every year when this day rolls around. It will be great to have all my "kids" back at the house with me again.

I hear ya...yippee!

Pulled the boat onto the driveway, uncovered it and fired it up already this morning. :woot:

Good to wear shorts again too.

yup, mid 80's here for the first time...

I'll probably open the dungeon doors after lunch and do some quite cage bending, other than my hernia popping.... :wink1:

this morn was quite cage contemplation/mock up time.. next couple hrs are "noisy" time tho, so the dungeon remains closed as to not make my neighbors go on a killing spree... :doah:

enjoy boys! :D

Rrrrrrr.....

Been in the 80's all week, and the one day I have off I had planned on going JYing... 45 degrees, and severe overcast. The JY I go to will be a mud pit... Dang Irish luck...

Have fun guys!

Well we (Montana) had a taste of ours last week. We since have had snow and back into the teens at night.
I too went to the storage unit. Pulled out the Kids fully restored 82 GMC Shortbox, tossed a battery in and woke up the 330 Ponies that were sleeping all winter... Took it to the car wash and then back to sleep for a while. I sure will miss it when he fianlly comes and gets it.

Yep, pretty nice 90+ degree weather here the past few days. I'm a couple weekends away from being able to drive mine.

UPDATE:

I pulled the vehicles out of storage at around 10AM......and before 8PM last night I'd already been pulled over by the local police....

Fortunately, I only got a warning...

Sure enough- Today is my Monday and it's 67 in the shade... still went JYing yesterday (slim pickings).

Good to hear, find anything good? Somehow i found 5 c-10's in a local junkyard and managed to get a good hood. I saw anouther one yesterday that i am going to look at this week, let me know what parts you need and i can see if any of our yards have it.

About 6 vehicles I could scavage from. Will be going back Tuesday, loaded with tools. Was looking for the springs and patch pieces, but saw a couple 14B. And this...

Its on a 80 K-10, and the springs looked fairly new. The truck hasn't been picked apart too badly yet, and it looked like the PO spent some time building it for wheeling. Warn hubs, Rancho shocks, and a few other things.

be careful on the 80's era lift kits. In those days, everyone was after height and ride comfort was an afterthought. :) You want stock springs if you're after a flexy ride.
