Ok guys I'm finally getting close to lifting the truck, I will be running 14bolt/D60 combo on 37's. I am not afraid of trimming fenders, but I want to get the brotherhood's opinion. I was planning on a 4" lift (ORD shackle flip in back and 4" lift springs in front), first question is should I consider doing a 6" lift? Second question, I want to replace the rear springs where is the best place to buy new stock springs (assuming the general consensus is stay with a 4" lift).

I went through this same process when deciding what I should do. I swapped in a D60/14BFF combo also. I wanted to run 38 to 40" tires but as far as the final outcome, yours should be pretty similar to what mine is (well, will be when $$ allows).

In all the searching I did, the answer I kept getting was that the best combo for that, if you aren't afraid to get cozy with a sawzall is to do the 4". Then, if you need an extra inch or two (don't we all ), you can add a zero rate and possibly a 1" body lift.

It's not a definite thing, but the "issues" associated with a 4" are potentially significantly fewer than with a 6" (think driveline modifications). Also, the 4" lift will ride better than the 6".

I did a DIY4X shackle flip in the back with 56" springs out of a Suburban, plus a zero rate moving the axle 1" rearward. I used 6" cross-tied shackles with the flip, also from DIY4X.

Up front, I ordered a set of ORD custom springs with 5" of lift and the center pin located so as to move the axle forward 1.5". These were spec'd for future addition of a winch and a reasonably beefy winch bumper in terms of weight rating. (I'm sure you already know this, but while you're under the front, you should look into the steering brace and frame reinforcement from ORD if you haven't done that already.)

With the setup I described plus some trimming, you should have plenty of room for those 37"s, plus it should ride nicely for you. You obviously don't have to do the custom front springs, but it is supposed to make a big difference in ride quality (don't know--I haven't had the opportunity to ride on them yet).

Hope this helps. There are lots of folks here with tons of experience on this. Many have tried several different setups and can pro/con each for you better than I can. I'm sure some of then will chime in shortly.

1" body lift
1" zero rate move frt axle forward 1.5"
tuff country lift springs in front for good flex and ride.
local spring shop or truck parts supply house for springs for rear.
1" zero rate stright up in rear to match front.
trim fenders as needed then.

and crossover steering for the win :thumb:

and if you still want 4" lift and move axle get 3" front springs and combo up with zero rate = 4" lift. and no extra zero rate in rear.

and on blazers 4" lift can sometimes lead to driveline vib and need to convert to c/v rear shaft to fix it . more than 4" def drive shaft work in rear.

To answer your questions, what do you plan on using the truck for? To wheel and light trail? Stick with a 4"lift. If you go 6" it is just getting too high to wheel in and thise 37's will ad some height too.
Why replace rear springs? Are the cracked or rotted? Just stick with the stock ones and a flip. You know after being on this site for a while you'll want to pull those 52spring out for some 56's or 63's in the rear anyways:D
All my 2cents.

Reason for swapping the springs is because the po beat this poor girl to death and bent a spring. I need to do some searching but let me ask does the 56" or 63" swap change your height?

can if thicker pack .

56 with flip is direct swap in by swaping flip brackets side to side.

but 64" spring swap from 88-up trucks is work and custom stuff cause of length diffrence .

What do you mean flipping the brackets side to side?

Also I'm assuming the advantage to this is a flexier ride?

If you do a shackle flip in rear, you would swap brackets to opposite side if you wanted to run 56" long springs.
