I was wanting to rebuild my spring pack on the burb when I do my shackle flip this week. I have never done it or read about it so just wanting to find out. If I pull the spring off and completely disassemble them, sand blast them and repaint them, would that be all I need to do?

I will be ordering new bushings and will sawzall the ends off the old ones, have the old ones pressed out and replaced them after I paint them.

Would this be acceptable?
What would I use to replace the rubber spacers in between the spring plates?

I will be at a computer for another 30 minutes or so and then I will not b able to check it for a couple of days if anyone needs more specifics on my questions.
Thanks guys.

what are you wanting to accomplish? just paint and new bushings? if so, that will do it. are they sagging, do you need a little more height? you could add another leaf into the packs.

I have new springs for the front and will be putting on the newly painted shackle flip in the back and would like the old pack to look new like the rest of it. I think since I am adding new suspension everywhere else it would just be good to go ahead and change out to new bushings and maybe get a little better ride and maybe a hair more lift. WHile I had it off I want to go ahead and do it now and not worry with it later.

If you can't find the plastic insterts to go between the leaves you should be able to find some paint that has graphite in it.

If you have access to a sand blaster then do that but a wire wheel would be fine too. Use good paint.
