i was wondering what spring pad spacing on a 70 blazer was compared to a say 84 k20? im thinking about swapping ina 14 bolt and getting rid of my 12 bolt...

:eek1:

You will have to move the spring perches if you use that axle. If you get a 14 bolt from a 1 ton, the spring perches will be in the correct position.

i wanna say it is a 1.5" difference between a 67-72 k5 and a 80's k20

On my 68 i used a k20 axle and i used the k20 spring brackets.
I didn't wanna torch the axle mounts as I may swap axles again.

1st gen blazers are 40.5" spring pad spacing. The 2nd gen blazers are 42.5" spacing.

Am I correctly assuming you're talking about REAR spring perches :eek1: :dunno: ?

I'm about to put in a CUCV front D60 and their spring perches measure 32".

hangers?

are you talking about the rear spring pad hangers? then you dont need to move perches? did you use the offroad design revers ones for a 73-87? or the stock ones of the 80's truck?

what i used was the axel out of a 78 burb. so I used a 2nd gen ORD flip with some pickup front hangers. also gained 3" more lift cause of the height difference

thats what i would like to do in order to get rid of these damn 4" blocks in the rear. i hate blocks.. do you happen to have a part number?
Ray

I can look tonight, they were all stock GM pieces so i think the GM tag is still on them. i had blocks too but after doing the brackets I won't be needing them.

ord's part number is on thier site. I already had a 2nd gen flip on my 77 so thats why I wanted to use it. i was gonna drill the front brackets off of the 77 k5 but the truck ones i got were taller. the old ones on my 68 looked more like a 2wd model they were really short, spring eye was about 1" below the frame.
