Spring perch widths

Great, 2 different answers. When I measured, I thought it was 41 1/4" so the 41 1/2" sounds better than 40"

Where are you measuring?

My rear axle is a 14BFF from a '77 3/4 4X4. I had to move the perches from 42.5" to 40" to get under my '71 Burb. 1972 and older 4X4's measure 40" center to center of the perch......that is 100% correct. :D

1972 and older 2 wheel drives with leaf-springs have a 42.5" spacing.

Are you measuring a 2wd or 4wd?

I must disagree my good sir......

The 1972 & older 4X4 spacing is 40" center to center. :D

DOH!! :doah: You're right! For some reason the newer 2WD dimension popped into my head. It might be because we swapped a 2WD 14BFS into a '72 4WD blazer recently. We had to narrow the perch spacing

Sorry about that ntroffroad.
