This is the rear w/ the 56's in backwards due to driveshaft length issues.

Here's what I've got to finish by 7/11 at the absolute latest......

- Finish the x-over steering (tonight), measure for draglink, get that ordered in.
- :hack: the fenders
- Mount front & rear bumpers
- Mount & wire Warn 8274 to front bumper & wire
- Mount & Wire Hellroaring dual battery setup
- Change out the oil pan (the 7 qt Moroso pan will be nailed by the front driveshaft the first time I flex it out if I don't)
- Install the front High Angle Driveline when it comes in (ordered yesterday - Thanks Jesse)
- Tie up loose ends w/ the new spring hardware hitting the pass side header & fuel line, & other misc. crap like that.

:yikes:

Looks good!!

You can really see the offset of the rear axle from the 56's but the front appears to still be centered. Did you move the front hangers like the tech article or did you go less? I ask because I've heard the front 52's move the axle 2" forward and I always thought that would be noticable.

Yes I did move the front forward, but it's not as noticable now since I had to start triming the fenders already (that lip that hangs down below the side marker)

looks good mike! :waytogo: how did the bushings for the 56's turn out?

I picked up a set of 1.5"OD poly bushings from the local club member's 4x4 shop and they worked fine. They had a little wiggle, but no more than 1/32" and only on about half of them, so I wasn't concerned.

Thanks again for the springs.. I really appreciate it! :waytogo:

Hey great truck, just have a question about the 56" springs. When swapping them in do you just move the rear mount back or does the front one have to be moved forward. Also does a 1 ton have 56" springs out back and if so could I just take leaves until I have say 4 and a overload or 5 springs in the pac.

Thanks.

Looking good! Hope you get everything done....you know how little issues always arise...but it seems you've thought it all out.

how do you like the diy4x flip?
I really like it! I love the flexibility of the flat shackles and it's really something different.

As long as you're using a shackle flip kit, you can reverse the sides on them for 56" springs (read: put the left one on the right side & vise versa) and still use the factory holes. The ORD and DIY4x shackle flip kits are offset by an inch & half or so, and by reversing them you actually move the rear shackle hanger back ~3". Here's some pics:

Oh yeah, little issues have really reared their ugly head. This was supposed to be a week long project and we're going on 7 weeks now

It looks good, I realy like the rear axle offset ...it gives it that bobbed-bed look.

Unfortunatly most everything has takes me longer to complete than I think it should. I have been working on my girlfriend's-mom's-jeep for over a month now and finaly have most of the tubework done.

Nice work. I run my Ford 57's backwards w/ a shackle flip and love it. Everyone told me that it wouldn't work to run them backwards because my pinion angle would be way off and the axle wrap would be terrible... WRONG!! The axle wrap is minimal, and the pinion angle was perfect w/ my 14bolt and no shims. I put my D70 in w/ the same pinion angle when I installed the new spring perches. The extra wheelbase w/ the reversed springs is sweet as well, really helps on the departure angle.

When you install a reverse shackle kit. Do you do anything on the oposite side of the spring. I see in your pics the reverse shackle. But do you drop down the other end of the spring with a different hanger?

Nope. Done deal with the flip brackets.

Hey Mike, didn't realize it was your truck till I noticed Joe's house in the background. Get those bumpers mounted yet?
