Tell me if this sounds right, or if I need to be looking somewhere else for the source of this problem. I know I have excessive axle wrap, I have ruined the current springs, but do have all the parts to make up an anti wrap bar sitting here, waiting on shop time. Now heres the problem, starting a couple days ago, my truck has developed a tendency to rear steer under throttle changes. Its only noticeable from 10-35mph or so. Slower and the truck drives so awful (42" TSLs) that I'd never notice it, and faster than 35 and it just doesn't seem to happen. Going from on-throttle (half throttle or so) to nothing, or nothing to half throttle, the back end of the truck wants to crab sideways out from underneath me. Makes the whole truck move about 12-18" to the side each time it happens.
Does that sound like the leafs are wrapping differently and causing the axle to get out of square, or should I be looking for something more like a broken center pin? u-bolts are tight as tight gets, all the spring bushings have 200 miles on them. Other than the springs being slightly deformed from all the axle wrap, nothing looks out of the ordinary when the truck is sitting still. No one is willing to drive the truck down the road while I hang off the side of the bed watching the leafs/axle for me to really get an idea of what it's doing while I drive.
