springs? lifts? help? wtf?

Yea i am trying to find a super cheap way to lift the blazer...Trying to spend like $200 but i am gona end up just buying the kit for $400-$600 i guess lol.

Craigls list some 4" springs or post a wanted add here for them and the steering correction. Get some blocks, U-bolts, brake lines and be done :waytogo: Really should be safely doable for $200 if you look around.

Ha ok i was asking you guys 1st before i even thought about doing anything....He told me just throw blocks front and rear for a quick cheap lift but dont got high while using blocks....So i was like um ok then i came to ask you guys.

Ya I run 6" blocks in the front. They have confederate flags painted on them.

Seriously, don't ever consider advice from anyone that suggests blocks on the front. They're bad enough in the rear without the extra shear that the panning motion of the axle puts on them. Front blocks are One of those things that's illegal for a good reason, just like screwing your sister lol

[mrmackey ]Blocks are bad mmmkay [/mrmackey]

Yea the more i talk to you guys the more i am pushing towards a shackle flip and 4 inch springs up front.

I see people on here wth shackle flips 56" springs and 7.25" shackles in rear. With 6 inch springs up front with 7.25 " shackle up front...

But i am aiming for a 4 inch lift with 33/12.50/r15 so i can flex and not rub, because i do not want to cut anything.

Only other option is to leave it stock and use it to pick up the groceries...

Yes, but I have rugged groceries...try picking up a side of beef and grits in a Toy truck! :haha:

If you can't afford a flipped hangar from ord or diy, I have a set of stock hangars that I cut and gusseted. You can have them for the ride in a flat rate box.

So its just like a homemade shackle flip?? could u shoot me a picture because that i think would fit my budget perfectly!

Can anyone explain to me what he means by this??????

An alternate but the same concept is to get the other hanger from the rear springs.
Get the front hanger from the rear springs on any 1/2 ton or 3/4 4x4. I'm pretty sure that's what you want, check for sure on ck5 though.
Take a look at your hangers on the k5 and you'll understand what I mean. It's basically a shackle flip.

The hanger at the front of the spring is set up to be mounted from below. You can get a pair of them and drill holes to mount them in place of the rear hanger. They are ugly but a bit easier than a homemade one and still pretty cheap.

To be honest if you want something quick and simple, save your money, and do it right the first time all in one shot. I spent around $800 on my 4" lift and couldn't be more satisfied with the ride quality and handling, I went with the ORD package (4" shackle flip, extended brake lines, new set of shocks, TC EZ ride front leafs, HD front greaseable shackles + large HD bushings, and a drop pitman arm) it even came with ALL the hardware required including new U bolts. The TC leafs are very soft and flexy, I also run 33x12.50 BFG Km2s and there is no tire rub whatsoever at full stuff :D

Also as a hidden bonus; after you rip all the old factory stuff out and swap in the bran new suspension; all the new components come apart soooo easily, making it a breeze to work on! My truck gave me hell and most of the old parts had to come off with a cutting torch, no thanks to 19 years of Utah road salt :doah:

Well if everything goes right i might trade out my 33 bfg a/t for some 36/12.50/16.5 military wrangler tires....Racing seats, 5 point harness 2 of them, A new window, and help installing the 6 inch lift. which will be pretty much free if i can talk this guy into it lol...Which is looking good right now.
