What is the difference between front springs on a 72 and earlier pickup and a 73 and up. Length, width??? /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Length is the biggest difference. I just dont remember the #'s off the top of my head.

Strange.I measured my fronts and they were close to 44" eye to eye. The reason I ask is for lift spring purposes. Most companies I see make kits for 73 and up, but few offer them for 72 and down. I was curious to see what the difference was..... /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

47" in the 67-72's and 49" in the 73 and ups

A friend of mine has a 68 and there is not a lift kit made for it, the springs are shorter than the 69-72. I don't know for sure what they measured (probably 44" as el diablo mentioned above) but he had to have custom springs made for the front. He had 14" lift springs made for it.

El diablo, what year is your truck?

call up pro comp.they make the lift springs.i think all the companys make them.you just have to call the company you want to get them from.thats what i did for my lift.

69-72 = 44-45"
73-91 = 46-47"

I think these inch lengths are for unloaded springs. Not in the truck.

My old lift springs are 46.5" unloaded. They may have sagged some from use though.
