Spy Pics of the Jimmy (Yes Really of the vehicle)

Ok a few more. Yes it does get bigger tires the 37" Krawlers are in the garage along with the 6 inch lift and 3/4 ton axles with lockers. Wiper switch was bad so a new one on order. Mess on the floorboards is my speaker wire. Seats are just thrown in still needs to go to the tube bender for the cage, seatmounts, bumpers, sliders. Tires in the pics are 31's with no lift and some sag.

lookin good there man. I've got the same sort of two tone paint scheme goin on also. Maroon on top and black under the body line like yours. Whered you go to get it painted?
i'm interested to see the progress as well when you get the bender fired up. :thumb:
Did you fill in all the holes on the windsheild frame!? Ditched the hard top eh?

Thanks Ryan B. A local independent body shop did the paint and speedliner$$$$$$$$$,

Yep filled all holes in the windshield frame and top of bed rails, along with all the holes in the floor. Rear inner fenders were tubbed using 2 sets. I widened them 6 inches on each side and cut the floor out underneath, along with a healthy dose of fender trimming. :hack: :weld: :grind:

Nice trim work.
It'll sit right up there w/a 6" lift and 37's. :thumb:
What gears are ya running in the 3/4 ton axels?
I'm curious 'cause I'm about to do the exact same thing soon.

I always do a double take when i see a gmc tailgate and a chevy grille or vice versa like yours.
Then i have to try and figure out if its a chevy or gmc.
What is different between a blazer/jimmy? i remember hearing the front fenders are slightly different for the gmc grille?

Relocating the gas filler was easy, I just opened up my wallet and gave the contents to the body shop. I went and cut a patch piece out of a pickup out of the bed in the area where the filler is on the jimmy and the body shop patched that hole then I cut out a recessed flipper door type gas filler out of a newer Yukon at the junkyard and the body shop fabbed that in. We took the filler door off and the new gas door from amp research just required drilling some new holes for it to work. Also used the filler tube from the yukon and made it work with the jimmy tank then boxed in the new stuff in the bed and filled the old. :weld: :hack: :grind: Cha Ching $$$$$.

Ryan B. The difference between Chevy and GMC, 2 more letters. Oh sorry. Yes the front fenders are different in the area where the grill sorround meets up. Chevy's have an indented area that the sourround fits into, GMC doesnt. Obviously the grills are different. Other than that not a whole heck of a lot. I heard rumors that GMC frames are stronger but that would seem strange to me. Mine is probably 60% GMC and 40% Chevy. Doors, hood, tailgate, chrome molding above door panels, steering column or at least the wheel, engine, and I am sure several other things are from Chevy.

Everyone seems to be gettin their projects closer to completion. Mine is still staring at me probably wondering what my major malfuntion is :o If it ever figures it out I hope it tells me. :D

PS; Lookin good 70jimmy!!!
