Wanted Square body 1-ton GMC poverty/dog-dish caps

I'm thinking seriously of running steels with poverty caps on the Sad Sub when the current BFGs die, which won't take long once it's rolling (they are sun baked, and BFGs don't last anyway).

So, if anyone has a nice set of caps, I would be interested. And I would ideally like the 1 ton D60 fronts, so would buy a pair of those alone. Or maybe cut a set of 3/4s if the price is right? Or hit me up with what you have. Thanks...
 
Sorry, looking for GMC. Otherwise would be yes, but thanks anyway.
 
Except for the stripe, which would have to be repainted red. But I think the actual 4x4 caps are universal, just not the cut full caps.
 
i have a set of these from a 3/4 ton and could open the hole up to 1ton size on my buddys bridgport mill for a clean hole.

I'm mainly focused on the poverty caps at the moment. Seems like those were only on the 2WD, not sure how they would look with hubs sticking through. But it's likely months before I will be replacing these 15" BFGs, so will probably give it a while looking for the small caps. And I have 2 Bridgeports plus a lathe big enough to spin that (without removing the gap plug), so opening up a set isn't out of the question.

In any case, are those for 16 or 16.5? I would only be interested in 16s if I decided to go that way, and you still have them when the time gets closer.
 
Not the ideal place to ask, but another option in my head is to find some 8 lug wheels that look like the 1/2 ton rally (Dodge van?), and use the GMC centers like these (cut as required) and rings. But that makes finding acceptable 16" wheels that are wide enough even harder, and requires more parts that aren't cheap and far too easy to steal or lose. Not sure how realistic that would be, but in my head it would look pretty sweet and not be something you see every day.

the full hub caps could be 15" or 16" on 3/4 ton and both 2wd and 4wd . i have a 4wd set and was going to open the hole up for the dana 60 hub to fit .
 
Those k30 caps are fetching a premium nowadays. You just missed an Ebay auction for 160 bucks for the set. That's pretty cheap.
 
I've been watching ebay for the last few weeks and didn't see those. Do you have a number? Just wondering what I missed...
 
Ah, I see, those are Chevy. I'm looking for GMC. I thought my search needed refinement if I missed a set. :D And I think I did see those just sniffing around, but those fronts aren't nice enough to buy the set just for the fronts. May come to something like that, but not there yet...

There was a pair of fronts in like new condition in Saudi Arabia for 400. I almost bought them. Just a little too late. I bought and sold I think seven sets of caps to get my nice ones I have now. The gmc rears are easy to come across in nice shape. Sold a primo set just recently for a really good price imo.
 
Whoo, $400 for a pair of fronts would be too rich for my blood. I'm building an expedition/camping rig that hopefully will see a lot of backcountry use, and we have a substantial "steal anything not welded on" population, so nice serviceable condition will work. And on rears, agreed. I've already seen quite a few come around for what I thought was a decent price, just hoping to save a bit on a set, and not wind up with a bunch of extras. I remember when you couldn't give these things away...

In the end I'll probably wind up cutting centers out, but you never know what will come up given a bit of time, so trying to get started early on that front.

I have a set of GMC center caps just like that if you decide to go that route. I cut out the front centers on a chevy set, it was a very easy affair.

Also, the 5-panel dog dish caps in the second post are for 15" 1/2-ton wheels, they're smaller in diameter than the 6-panel dog dish caps that go on 8-lug wheels. It's not just a matter of cutting out the center hole.
