Hey all!

I'm looking for a little tech info from someone in the know.
I am going to swap the saddle tank in my 84 C10 for a rear mount from a K5. The truck is still carb'd and I'm looking at a 25gal tank. However, in LMC's K5 catalog there is a part number change from 81 to 82, even though the physical dimensions are identical (PT #'s 32-5943, 32-5944). Can anyone tell me the difference between the early and later versions of these carb-feeding fuel containment units?! (y)

Thanks!

Oh, and before anyone suggests...I already tried. LMC's "tech" dept was as usless as tits on a bull.

Can’t help there. But you’ll get to the mounting of the tank and filler neck here soon

Is a 87+ TBI tank a comparable price?
You never know when fuel injection will show up. Having a baffle tank may save you money later if that is the case

and rockauto is around the best place for lots of pics of parts and most prices on quality name brand stuff . all tho i have found my spectra premium tanks and senders cheaper on ebay the last few times .

i think the swap in part #'s was for the filler neck size of the tube and possible move the vent hose to the sender over the tank maybe . i am not all o familiar with blazer tanks .

and as said if swapping in the tank new and never know if going efi i would get the tbi spec tank / then later you just need to swap the sender for the tbi spec unit and use a acdelco ep381 pump for up to 60-70 psi spec to feed most aftermarket kits . ..... but by the looks of it the blazer tanks for tbi / efi are only offered in 31 gal capacity so this shoots out that idea .

Correct me if wrong, 69-72 filler on drivers side, 73-91 on passenger side

I don't know if they are still made in canada... but go with a spectra. The one I good is nice.

Mounting the tank wont be too big of a deal, and I have the filler neck sorted out already.
The truck is staying carb'ed. I like the absolute simplicity of my rig, so a tank with EFI baffling isn't necessary.
I'm just looking to know if anyone can tell me the specific difference between the 2 tank options.

Thanks!

When I was doing this I ordered the tank I suspected I needed through Advance Auto online. Spectra tanks from Canada. Theory being if it was wrong I could return it locally and go again.
Good luck, Mick

Thanks a million, guys!

I'm going with the later version. The larger dia. inlet should make for a smoother fill, especially over the long flat pitch of the hose needed to make this work.
