Maybe someone will know what to do here. Lately my leaf springs have been squeaking really loud. I mean it's about to annoy me to death. I think it's mainly the front springs and the driver's side seems to be the worst. The noise seemed to be coming from the shackle end of the spring, so I took the bushings out and put a lot of grease on them but it didn't seem to help. I did notice that the teflon pads that go between two of the leaves are destroyed. Could that be causing the squeak?
The front springs are stock length Tuff Country EZ Rides and are about 6 years old. They still have their arch and ride good. Not much rust on them at all. The bushings are poly and look good. Shackles are the ORD ones with greasable bushings. I keep plenty of grease in them.
I've heard of guys taking the spring packs apart and sanding them and painting them. Is there a certain paint I need to use? And where can I buy those teflon pad things?
Thanks for reading guys.
