stage 1 - finally complete

I finally have the new 8 lug D44 under the rig with everything hooked up except the steering shaft which i picked up out of an XJ and will mod it at work on monday. I am also working on my front bumper so it fits correctly with the body lift. Then i can finally work on the 14 bolt. Disc brake conversion, spring perch change and shock towers.


Funny as i post these pics i can see how far out of alignment my front tires are. Oops i forgot, i need to align my front end too

Back to the stock bumper for sure, but the new stock grills i piced up are a little more beat up then i thought. The tube setup was the cleanest i owned, thats what i'm going with until i can afford a new outer grill.


I'm still making brackets to move the bumper up 3" so it will look like this only the bumper up higher.

Looks good - except you need to move the bowtie down a row or two it looks like. - or go really weird with it and place it down at the lower right...

I need a nice picture of a stock front end. I'm kinda geussing on all this stuff. Another thing is: was there turn signals in the grill as well as the front bumper, on the stock blazer? I have both but i think the grill ones were added becuase of the winch bumper.

The ones with no tires on them are 16.5x14 bart supertruckers.
The ones with the 39x18 mickeys are alcoa 16.5x12.

I moved to the 12" trying to get some of the tire under the fender well. If it doesn't fly i have a set of 39x15 mickeys for a backup plan.

I'm doing everything in a 16.5 wheel cause the stuff is dirt cheap on craigslist. Nobody wants it anymore.
