Thought I would contribute to all the build up threads here lately.
Finally completed "stage 2" in my burb buildup with new wheels and tires. During the winter I´ve been mounting a shackelflip in the rear and putting in a detroit locker in the rear axle. Bought a set of hmmwv wheels and after figuring out how to solve the beadlocks I´ve cut down the runflats instead of putting in PVC inserts. Works fine and they are very easy to work with.
No action shots yet since I mounted the tires today:wink1:

nice burb... x2 on the irok size.. Love the color too.. I'm tempeted to paint my burb the same color.

The truck looks great! I like that front clip style more and more, and the color is awsome.

Are you finding the parts OK over in Sweden?

The IROKs are 36x13,5x16,5. They are really huge for a 36" tire. Looks bigger than a lot of 37s I´ve seen.

Parts are pretty easy to find over here but very expensive so I buy most of the parts for my trucks in the US. Usually no problem to ship them by airmail.

We have a good dealer for Super Swamper tires with really good prices so I bought the tires over here but the wheels were found on E-bay and shipped by boat.

did you use spaceres or deully hubs for the front?
looks nice in dark green with h1s and iroks

I used 1,5 inch wheel spacers both front and rear. Got app. the same track as with my old 8x16 M/T Classic 2 wheels.

By the way the paint is a Swedish military color called dark olive green summer camo:D .

That's a good looking Suburban  I'm going to paint mine with almost same color, except it's a paint what Finnish army uses :wink1:

BTW, just looked at the map where Huddinge is. Not too far from where I live, just about 350km on road and a ferry trip :D Find finnish map, and look for Ylämaa.

OK, here's some pictures. Not much action but atleast it's wheelingpictures:D .
The traction of the IROKs is awesome. It's so good that I never noticed I forgot to lock the hubs:o at first. I climed up a steep hill thinking that the traction wasn't that great and then realized I did it with 2wd:doah:
With the hubs locked the burb feels unstoppable. The tires are not too bad on the road either.

The trails over here are often made with jeeps so it can be a little tight sometimes as you can see in the pictures. Most people say a burb is to big to wheel untill they get stuck in the dirt and wan'ts to be towed.

Here's the pictures

Anyone can take a jeep through small trails. It takes a skilled driver to take boats like ours through the same place without any major incident. Looks great.

That looks so familiar. Last saturday we were on a trail ride with my brothers Toyota HJ-60. There was two pines, just like on a picture, and it felt tight spot for a 'Yota, and I just wondered "Damn, how did I get my Blazer trough this?" :haha: Can't wait to try my Suburban on same trail.

Is that a C303 on the other picture? Capable vehicle, I say :)

No, it´s actually a Volvo C202. It's my dads. He bought it when he retired from work and has been restoring it for a while. It's a really capable ohv for beeing completely stock but it's not like a C303. They are really awesome.

Amen.......... I have actuatly had jeeps make 2 point turns and I make the correct line and make the corner

Yeah, takes some practice. It took a couple of rear windows to get the hang of it but nowadays the sub doesn't feel that big :D

I REALLY like you burb. looks mean as hell, hahaha.

Thanks !

I'm planning to make some new bumpers for it so hopefully it will look even meaner :cool1: It will also get some better attachment points for jeeps that needs help :D A winch is also on the way.

Are you gonna build the bumper yourself? or are you gonna buy one?

If you do build one, give us some build pics!!
