Stainless Bumper Bolts

Huh. Thought the stock ones were stainless, but they just have a stainless cap on them. Any reason you can't just use thick lube on them for assembly to keep them from rusting up? (assuming corrosion is your concern)
The factory were stainless capped. i get them from my local body supply house. 1.60 each! The ones I used to get at napa/autozone and such places were just chrome plated and would rust up.
